Dirty Dancing
This 1987 romantic film is one of the most famous dancing movies of all time and although it had such a low budget it has gone on to make a massive $214 million worldwide as of 2009. It was actually the first movie ever to sell over a million copies on video and the finale has been described as the most goosebump-inducing dance scene in movie history. The scenes of this movie were choreographed by Kenny Ortega who is also famous for the next movie on the list.
No Not Middle, Its High School Musical
This was actually a Disney Channel television movie and it was the biggest ever bringing in a massive 7.7 million viewers. This movie was the very first Disney Channel movie that saw a sequel released in the theatres and many people say this is a modern adaptation of Romeo & Juliet.
Step Up To The Plate
This 2006 movie earned $21million in its opening weekend and was directed by Anne Fletcher and of course starred Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewen who have since gone on to get married after meeting on this film set. Learn to dance lessons really came in handy for these two then although I am not sure they would be the types to jet off on one of those dancing holidays.
Footloose
Kevin Bacon starred in this 1984 smash hit and it was sure to be a winner. Although this film received many negative criticisms it went on to be a box office smash and really rocketed Bacon to the status that people see him as today.
So if you are into your dancing movies but cannot dance why do you not get out there and start learning for goodness sake! Book those Torquay hotels and get dancing!
